Excellent report and as you say surfing is a very subjective topic. One surfer's 9 is another's 3 and so on. When I was a young fit surfer, the bigger and faster the better, but now i'm old fat and unfit. as long as there's some nice little lines coming in at Southport or Moana that I can catch on my Mal and spend a bit of time with my grandson teachingv him to boogyboard then that rates as a 9 for me. As you say the best advice when in doubt is just GO!

Oh? You think it was wrong today? What... the Mid Coast wasn't flat? Waits was actually 6 foot and not 2 foot as we stated? Well... in that case please feel free to provide your detailed summary so that we can adjust our reports to bring them in line with your expectations. Bear in mind your expectations and assessment may be different from everyone else's, but hey... that's surf reporting for ya. I am interested you mentioned swellnet though... why might that be, hmmm?

That is a great little article, pretty much spot on. So many waves and still nowhere to surf. The curse of the SA surfer

ah, the Middleton Mirage. How many time have you kept paddling towards goolwa never to find nirvana? but we keep going back on the off chance.

I haven't read the plight of south coast surfer put so well before, you captured it to a tee.

We love our maligned coast....sort of.

We got Goolwa at a pretty consistent and super clean 2 foot. Some great little glassy bowls and even a couplke of bazzas at low tide. Super fun and not crowded - a great score as we were taking a learner for their 1st lesson and only took the boards as an afterthought!!
